Olivia_Matt Sheridan

Thursday's lecture from Matt Sheridan was inspiring. It is a good feeling that somebody from a small town such as Cortland has found his way in such a hard industry. I found his work a little confusing and not so much to my taste but the way in which he worked up to where he is now was very inspiring. It was good to hear that you can change your path multiple times in art and you'll eventually find your niche and what works for you and what makes you happy. It's not always going to be easy and you're probably going to have to take some jobs that you are not particularly fond of, but if you use those experiences to grow and learn from then they can lead to many more opportunities that are available. I also enjoyed how Matt shared that he thought some of his work was crap and wasn't ever going to be shown let alone win awards all over the country. It just goes to show that you may not alway like your work, but somebody out there will and might think it is the next best thing. Just stick with it, and use learning experiences to the best and things will work out in the end.
